PETITION: SAY NO TO 10% TAX HIKES IN DURHAM REGION

We, the undersigned residents of Clarington, Ontario, write to express our strong opposition to the proposed increase that could push Durham Region's total property tax bill above 10 percent in 2027. According to reporting on Durham Regional Police Service's proposed 10-year funding plan, estimates show total Regional property taxes could rise between approximately 9.02 percent and 10.52 percent next year, following on the heels of the 4.8 percent Regional tax increase already approved for 2026.
