Life for me was always about how much you achieve, my name is Mokhles Mokhtar mostly known by Mike Mokhtar, I was born in a family business third generation. To be around entrepreneurs and business leaders encouraged and enhanced my abilities to become a leader to be able to make the tough decisions.

I recognized that to be successful in life you have to understand people needs, feelings and to educate myself that resulted in when I was 19 years old I published a short story.

Another Canadian success story

Most people think the land of opportunities is USA, I always say it is north of USA.

In my late twenties I immigrate to Canada and from day one I have a plan for my life, to continue as an Accountant get certified, help my community and serve Canada and to do so I have to get education, work experience and run for public service.

I worked very hard, I was working three jobs and sleep six hours every three days. There were three Accounting designations in Ontario, at the time CA, CMA and CGA, I choose the CMA because it was close to the CA program that I want to be and it was manageable with my circumstances of family which I am very proud of my wife, my two doctors children and work load.

In 1997 I passed the CMA exam, the beginning of a good career and I got a contract to work for Roots Canada, I went through 150 acquisitions and the company growth which opened my eyes on a great world of how to balance between resources and goals.

I worked for other big names, Shoppers drug mart, the Salvation Army, and then a controller at Key Interactive (Dollco) and CFO of IBInvest.

In 2000 I started my own practice as a CMA in Oshawa, also I worked for CA firms to get my experience.

In 2004 I worked as CFO of IBInvest with Gary Fitchett the author of the Canadian Finance Handbook (Institute of Chartered Accountants) and with Gary I learned how to do a business plan and how to apply it to business and use it as a planning and control tool.

At the same year I was second nomine for Scarborough central PC party MP.

In 2009 York University had a new Master program (Master of Financial Accountability) I attended it and got my degree in 2012 in the same year I got my CA designation and my public license

In 2014 I was the CFO of the PC party in our riding and third nomine Durham PC party riding for MPP.

I had a TV show in USA for a few Years in Csat and ABN sat.

In 2015 I got a part time job to teach Accounting at York University. I am proud that I changed some student life to be very successful Accountants.

In 2021 I started studying Law at Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy in California, and in 2024 I passed the California Baby Bar.

I have my Accounting public practice in Bowmanville, Ontario, and I still live in Bowmanville since 199
